Should a rapist caught pants down have a right of reply?

I know the second half of the Mugo tournament final match is about to come to end, but before the referee blows the final whistle, let me use the added minutes to pour out my heart. I am very disappointed all because people have decided to turn this rape issue into a battle of sexes with hundreds of women swearing by their parents’ graves never to seek the services of male gynaecologists!

Men have also vowed to avoid their fellow species when it comes to acknowledging gynaecologists for their spouses. So who exactly do you want the male gynaecologists to attend to? Female dummies in the malls? Well, like I said the other week, the dummies will never at any point need a man’s services!

We must stop tagging abuse of professions depending on someone’s gender. We must not allow anyone to give an excuse on rape claiming the victims exposed themselves to the evil act. Have you ever heard of someone boarding a Hornbill to fly them to their destinations because planes crush?

If a plane crushes, it’s all because something went wrong somewhere. It could either be the pilot, the plane, the weather or anything. You might board the best plane but as long as the pilot has a problem flying it, your life will be at risk.

The same can be said about hospitals. Going to a state-of-the-art hospital does not mean you are free from any abuse by any doctor, be it male or female. Some female gynaecologists have done worse things to their patients. Women, we are the ones who see the gynaecologists, not men.

We must therefore come together and condemn rouge gynaecologists as a whole and stop pointing fingers just at the male ones. We are giving the rogue female ones a walk in the park by doing this. We are crucifying experienced male gynaecologists who stick to medical ethics because of our blanket judgment. If no one wants to visit a male gynaecologist, then why let them dig into their books for years just to be sidelined? People must learn to respect their various professions regardless of their gender.

As unfortunate as it may sound though, the Mugo tournament is ending in a few minutes and the scoreboard is not just discouraging but pathetic as well. One ‘powerful defender’ has been ‘handling the ball’ in the box since the tournament started and the referee has been turning a blind eye.

Even after it was captured on camera and replayed in slow motion, the match officials insist it was ‘Ball to hand’ and not ‘Hand to ball’ and have therefore refused to award the victims a chance for a penalty shot because they know the consequences.

Some law offenders should thank their gods because I sit not in any panel that passes any law. Why should a rapist caught pants down have a ‘Right of reply’ before he faces the law? Do people really understand the consequences of rape to the victim?

First of all, it’s not any walk in the park forcing a square peg inside a round hole! The physical pain alone is enough to send the victim straight to Nebuchadnezzar’s side and back if not permanently.

The emotional torture afterwards can make one use the word ‘suicide’ in their daily thoughts. The societal perception of the victims is nothing to write home about. The only ‘Right of reply’ rapists should have is while they are behind bars and probably fall on deaf ears. Just like death, rape is painful and irreversible. I am closely watching the match officials of this tournament. I pray that God descends on you personally; His son might be a bit lenient!
