Why "bad boys" are so alluring

You've seen them in movies and real life. Those men who are portrayed to own a leather jacket, give you a wink as they walk past and exude a whole new level of dominance and confidence. Bad boys we call them. Why are they so attractive and leave women weak to their knees? 

Low self-esteem

If you have low self esteem, it's normal that you'll feel undeserving of someone to offer you comfort and love. On the contrary, you will be attracted to someone who exhibits some narcissistic behaviors and who could possibly mishandle you. 

You think you can change him

It's thought to be a drive women have that they can change men's behavior. We tend to think that we can use our charm to make these men love us better since they are attractive in the first place. Unfortunately, it's hard to change their behavior but instead, we should aim to actually keep at bay or encourage them to seek counseling. 

You're attracted to his confidence

Bad boys exude a certain dominance that women are so attracted to. It comes with confidence and the way they approach you without any shyness. Since naturally women actually look out for people who make good mates, it is initially through the confidence attraction. It sends signals to the women's minds that this man has everything put together, under control, a factor that women are naturally attracted to. Remember, women prefer stability. 

Your ovulation lense is guiding you

According to research by Journal of Personality and Social Psychology women who are ovulating perceive men who are handsome and headstrong  to be seemingly more appealing mates.This makes women get attracted to the alpha mindset, confidence and dominance exuded by these men, making the women think these men are perfect offspring bearers. It is noted that off the ovulation period, women are more sane minded and could fall for more nurturing and caring men. However, most of your mating hormones are high during the ovulation period which guides the bad boy selection. 

It's scientific

In Evolution & Human Behavior, a study comprising 1,000 men and women revealed about men who had more sexual partners and an increased number of children when compared to those who didn't have certain different traits. 

The ones with more sexual partners had personality characteristics like impulsivity, imprudence, and narcissism. As per this,the negative characteristics can seem to actually draw more women towards the bad boys.
