Ladies come in different body types, shapes and sizes. If you’ve never confirmed which category you fall in, now is the prefect opportunity for you to figure it out.

There are many advantages of mastering your body shape including the obvious one which is knowing what to choose when combining outfits. This could give you the ultimate closet glow up because once you know how to style your body, you can never go wrong.

I can go on and on about the different categories that are there but for now, let’s look at the pear shape.

If you look at an actual pear and visualize that as a body shape, you’ll automatically notice that it’s characterized by a narrow top and wide thighs and hips.

The goal is to flatter the right areas as you emphasize the strengths of having this gorgeous body type.

Here’s how to get your A-game in styling 101.

Emphasize the waistline

This is the best part about having a pear shape. The break between your waistline and your hips is to die for and this is the strongest feature about this shape.

Go for the waist belts that give an even better illusion of a tiny waist and draw in the eyes to that area.

Find the right tops for you

It’s always advisable to keep the bottom simple while you experiment with the top. Your lower half doesn’t need to have too much going on because it already speaks for itself.

You have room to try different tops like the v-necklines, the dramatic sleeves and so many other types because most of them look good on you.

The only thing you should remember is that, your tops or jackets shouldn’t cut at the widest part of your hips. This looks unflattering and it could distort the balance we are trying to achieve.

Your tops should rest above or below the widest part and you could even look great with a cropped top.

Go long on the skirts and dresses

You can pull off the short skirts but long ones look perfect for this body type. These are the pencil skirts that sit below the knee or even the maxi style dresses. These types have a way of giving you that flawless look because they effortlessly balance you out.

If you choose to go short, try the A-lines.

Skip the super tight short shorts

The only thing you could miss out on is the tiny shorts because which don’t have enough fabric to cover your bum and hips in a flattering way. Maybe you’ve seen some pear shaped celebrities wear this but their world is different from ours, trust me.

For a more down to earth classy look, choose those what gives you some breathing space like the wrap shorts which actually emphasize the waist too.

Wear skinny and flared jeans

These two are basically all you need to slay. They both cinch in the waist and emphasize your thighs and hips in the most flattering way.

What you need to check for is the type and positioning of the back pockets. Pockets that have too much detail and those that are too wide apart never look good.
