There’s probably that one pair of jeans you love in your closet. It may be your go-to-pair that matches with different outfit combinations or just your favorite unique pair. Either way, a time will come when your jeans will start to wear out. If you wear anything too many times, it will definitely end up looking old at one point.

They may be looking tired, but that doesn’t mean that you should toss them away just yet.

I can assure you that there are so many ways to revamp them so that they’re back at the top of your list. Here is how.

Remove the stains

Some of the worst stains that can destroy your jeans are gum stains, ink, wine and many other stubborn stains. The jeans fabric makes it a bit complicated when it comes to stain removal because it’s not usually as easy as dipping them in a bucket of jik.

A wrong move will only make things worse and destroy your jeans irreversibly. All you need is the right procedure depending on the type of stain your dealing with.

Turn them into ripped jeans

This is one the simplest ways to make them look brand new. With a good sharp pair of scissors, you can carefully make rips on them and no one will even know they were the old pair you had.

If this is something you’re interested in, search for videos to direct you on how to do it correctly to avoid ripping them too much.

You’ll also learn the proper technique on how to make the rips look natural, like new jeans that come with the ripped design.

Pair with new shoes

Rustic jeans are characterized by a washed out look. There’s basically no difference between a new and old pair so yours can pass for the rustic design.

The trick here is to pair them the right way. If you wear them with worn out shoes and a faded top, you’ll look off. Wear them with a vibrant pair of heels or sneakers to balance the wash.

Accessorize

Try and renew your jeans by embellishing them with accessories. A nice gold chain, a belt or scarf will make them look new once again.

Try getting an African belt or a delicate gold chain to replace the old heavy chains that used to be tied decades ago. Find anything that makes the jeans pop in an interesting way.

Dye them

This will completely transform your jeans with a few simple steps. You need to find the right type of fabric dye that won’t bleed too much or stain your skin.

Once you find a good quality dye, you can follow the instructions on them and ensure the dye gets into all the areas. The final step will be washing and rinsing them properly to set the dye.

The best colors to work with are black and blue dyes.

Try patchwork

There are many interesting patch designs you can purchase. The modern designs revamp the old patchwork designs and many of them can be ironed on in literally two minutes. You can also buy the stitch on patch designs if you like.

Turn them to shorts

When it’s almost time to let your jeans go, turn them to shorts. This is one of the last resorts before it’s time to find a new pair all together.

This is a great hack for those jeans that have lost their shape and elasticity especially around the knee area.

Once they’ve lost their elasticity, it’s hard to restore them. Turning them to shorts will give them a new shape and they’ll actually fit better. Again, look for tutorials on how to cut them the right way.
