One of the latest beauty treatments that is creating a buzz is the snail therapy Women do not take beauty for granted and would try out all manner of therapies to acquire that youthful glow.

Believe it or not, snail therapy has landed in town and city women and men who want to shed off years are just a snail’s secretion away.

Snail flavoured products landed in the city in mid-January and are already giving dealers of mainstream beauty products a run for their money judging by its performance; consumers and dealers of snail beauty products say so.

Esther Kamau, owner of Hajash Salon located at Imenti House along Moi Avenue tried the products on her face, saw the outcome and decided to be a dealer.

“I’ve never had a smooth face since my teenage. I had pimples and large pores until recently a friend in Korea sent me the snail cream,” she said adding that her confidence grew after just five days of snail therapy.

Further, Kamau had been fighting bacterial infection as result of wearing mtumba shoes for more than ten years but, “the moment I saw the impressive results on my face, I applied the cream on my feet and the rashes that had been giving me sleepless nights vanished.”

Skin Revival Snail Cream and Skin Repairing Snail Cream retailing for Sh2000 and Sh1900 respectively have turned Hajash Salon into a beehive of activities in a span of just one month.

Kamau says Revival Snail Cream works efficiently when applied before going to bed and in the morning so that it does not interfere with other beauty products. Snail soap retails for Sh500 at the moment.

“For now, I import in large quantities but since I’ve been taught how to harvest snail’s secretion, I’m planning to make these beauty products locally,” she said. The snail cream according to Kamau clears face acne, black spots, scars, wrinkles, eye bugs, reduces enlarged pores, and even smoothens men’s skin after shaving.

Joyce Mbuga who has already tried the cream told CityBiz that, “It feels good after using it, I had stretchmarks around my breasts and waist but I’ve seen the change two weeks after using the cream, further my face is now smooth and I look young despite my age.”

“Business is good, three days into the business, I sold the cream to around 20 clients and the number is growing, we do free delivery within the City and extra Sh200 for clients away from the CBD,” she told City Biz.
