As much as your wedding day is your day, you want to ensure that your guests have just as much of a great time as you. Different people, of different ages with different personalities will be attending your wedding. This can range from children to teenagers to elderly guests. You need to accommodate everyone’s interests to make your wedding day unforgettable.
1. Group games
This is a great icebreaker for guests who are not familiar with each other. It’s also a great way to make everyone feel included in the fun. Board games are a great way to keep your guests busy and bring out their competitive side.
You can provide games such as Uno, Scrabble or jigsaw puzzle games. It would also be interesting to split the guests into teams such as men vs. women, single vs. married guests or the elderly vs. the kids.
2. Bride and groom Trivia game
This is your chance to find out how well your loved ones know you (and rat out the gate crashers). At each guest’s sitting position, leave a sheet with trivia questions about you and your spouse. You can do multiple choice questions or have them fill in blanks. Have the wedding emcee read out the answers and offer a prize for the winner just to make the game that much more competitive and fun.
3. Games for the kids
Keep the little guests entertained and away from your expensive décor by providing fun activities for them. Hopscotch is a playground classic that very few kids would dislike. Create an area for them to hop around to their heart’s content. A bonus is that they’ll be worn out by the time they get home, giving their parents an easier time to get them to bed.
You can also provide simple toys for them such as jump ropes and hula hoops. Avoid any sporting ball as they’ll be kicked left and right and probably break something really expensive.
4. Photo booth
A photo booth is a fun way for your guests to capture the memories of your wedding day. Photo booths are less formal, which can allow your guests to be goofy and make funny faces.
Have cool props in the booth for your guests to play around with. These can be simple props such as giant sunglasses, curly wigs, fake moustaches or googly eyes on a stick. This will also give you something to laugh about when you look back on your special day.
If a thing had to be named after you, what would that thing be? (and why)
