Lupita Nyong’o’s beauty secrets

Beauty - By Esther Muchene | December 7th 2020 at 10:20:00 GMT +0300

We all have those celebrities we look up to simply because they seem to have everything figured out. Every time they step out, they set trends and we can’t help but wish we could be them.

Lupita is one of those celebrities. She is one of the most influential women in the black community and many black girls strive to be like her.

As gracious as she is, she was generous enough to give us some of her beauty secrets for her flawless skin. And I am super excited to share this information with you.

Flawless skin needs work. You need time to take care of your skin and ensure that you pay close attention to it.

We all admire women with beautiful flawless skin and immediately want to learn what they are doing.

With a society that is so stuck up on physical appearance, it’s important to make sure that you look good at all times because you never know who is looking.

But you need to remember that confidence makes you look even more beautiful. Learn how to love and be confident in your skin.

That said, here are Lupita Nyong’o’s beauty secrets.

i.Natural oils

Lupita Nyong’o loves to use natural oils like avocado oil and Hawaii Kukui oil on her face. These natural oils are a great way to keep the skin moisturized and lock in moisture.

Depending on your skin type, you can look for a natural oil that keeps your skin soft and does not irritate your skin. Natural oils contain the least amount of chemicals which makes them safe and less likely to cause skin damage or irritation.

ii.Mascara

The makeup product she loves is a volumizing mascara in super black. Most often than not, she likes to keep her make up light and minimal.

To achieve something similar, you can use less makeup and possibly avoid using make up on a daily basis. Remember you don’t have to have layers of foundation to look beautiful because you are already beautiful.

iii.Self-care routine

Lupita always meditates and uses a diffuser with essential oils like lavender and frankincense before bed. She also enjoys regular massages.

Using a diffuser is a great way of ensuring that your skin absorbs the nutrients in your essential oils.

If you are not a fun of this you can also steam your face as an alternative. But only do this once or twice a week to prevent drying out your skin. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to your hot water and cover using a towel.

iv.Beauty routine

First, she washes her face, uses a toner, followed by natural oils and finally a moisturizer. Following the right process of doing things, you need to make sure your face is clean before applying any sunscreen, toner, natural oil or moisturizer. This will ensure that your skin is well moisturized. You don’t have to follow her routine step by step but it’s important to have a skin routine that works for you.

v.Calendula

Calendula is very soothing for her, as she puts it. This oil heals her skin when it’s had a lot of sun exposure. Other than that, she tries to use sunblock daily.

Alternatively, you can use your favorite sunscreen daily, just make sure it’s spf 45 and above to ensure you are fully protected from harmful sun rays.
