Nobody has the time or money to spend at a spa to maintain a beautiful and healthy visage. Here are some simple, cost-effective, healthy and organic ways to treat yourself in the comfort of your home.
Sugar, Lemon and Honey Mask + Scrub
This sweet little concoction will leave you feeling (and maybe tasting) like candy. It easily doubles as a body scrub and a mask. In a container, put equal amounts of sugar and honey and mix to a sludge. Cut a slice of lemon and squeeze the juice into the sludge, then mix thoroughly. If you have sensitive skin, the lemon is purely optional; the citric acid can act quite harshly on sensitive skin.
Either rub it on your skin or apply it as a mask, making sure to massage it into your skin. Keep it on for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Charcoal Mask
This is not for everyone, especially if you have dehydrated and very sensitive skin. This mask can be rather painful to remove, but yields some interesting results which you can even see.

All you need is activated charcoal and non-toxic liquid glue. Add a teaspoon of activated charcoal to a container filled with glue and mix to a gooey substance.
Ensure your skin is washed and clean prior to application. Use a brush to gently apply the mask on your face but be keen to avoid your eyebrows and general eye area. Keep the mask on until it’s fully dry. Be careful when peeling it on, don’t be too rough to irritate your skin. Wash up with warm water after and hydrate with your preferred cream.
Egg Mask
For a little pampering, head to the refrigerator and grab an egg. If you have dry skin that needs moisturizing, separate the egg and beat the yolk. Oily skin takes the egg white, to which a bit of lemon or honey can be added. For normal skin, use the entire egg. Apply the beaten egg, relax and wait 30 minutes, then rinse. You'll love your new fresh face.
Turmeric, Honey and Yoghurt Mask
This particular recipe comes in handy if you want to have a natural glow. This mask is very efficient for dry and oily skin and all ingredients act as moisturizers and stabilizers. The turmeric is key, as it helps to even the skin tone, assists in healing wounds and little scabs and soothes skin irritations.
All you need is 1 teaspoon of turmeric, honey, yoghurt and/ or a nourishing oil such as coconut oil or avocado oil. The mask can stain, so ensure you wear clothes you don’t hold dear. When wiping from your face, use olive or avocado oil to avoid a yellowish hue on your face.
