Social media was taken aback when Meagan Good and her husband of nine years announced their separation.
Through their various Instagram handles, the couple posted a joint statement informing the public of their amicable split.

"After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal.” It read.
“There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love. We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife.” The post read on.
"We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we've spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other," It concluded.
According to People, her husband, movie producer DeVon Franklin, filed for divorce on Monday, December 20, citing irreconcilable differences.
Franklin further requested that neither party receive spousal support. He added that the full extent of their separate and community property is unknown at this time.
Meagan Good is yet to respond in court.

Just six months back, the couple had posted anniversary tributes to each other to mark nine years of marriage.
The two met in 2011 while filming the movie Jumping the Broom and tied the knot a year later at the Triunfo Creek Winery in Malibu, California.
