Dating younger man: A toy boy a day keeps an older woman happy and glowing

Two months ago I attended a friend’s wedding. She is 41 and the man she was marrying, and father of her one-year-old daughter, had just turned 32.

I know what you are probably thinking and wondering. Why would any woman in her right mind want to date or even go further and marry a man much younger than her? Well, let me reiterate and ask, why not?

After all, haven’t men been robbing the cradle since the beginning of time? Women are now just dipping their fingers into this particular cookie jar that has been labelled a taboo for quite too long. I know rumours abound about how dating a younger man is overrated and overly glamourised, and that younger men are childish and all. Well, those are just that--rumours. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I decided to take a walk on the wild side, and now I know why men are so obsessed with younger women. The experience put me in touch with the bedrock truth. Look, you have not really lived as a woman until you have walked on the wild side and tried a younger man. Folks, I know what I am talking about.

In fact, my new dating philosophy is: Go younger, don’t lower your standards, instead just lower your age range!

If you are still a doubting Thomas look at Hollywood stars who have made it work and look sexy: The legendary Tina Turner is 75 and her husband is 59; Gabriel Union is 42 and her husband Dwayne Wade is 33; Eva Mendez is 41 and her man Ryan Gosling is 34; Cameron Diaz is 43 and her husband rocker Benji Madden is 36. Boy, oh boy! Have you seen how those women are glowing?

Dating younger men

Further, like men discovered before us, there is a long list of reasons why they are often so eager to date and marry younger, reasons why every woman should at least try going younger, even if it just once.

The first and most important reason is that dating younger is the secret of youthfulness. They make you look younger. Their youthfulness sort of just rubs off you. Just look at Jennifer Lopez, she is 46 but she looks 28 like her boyfriend. A man in your age group will either make you look older or simply like your right age (boring), while marrying and older man will make you look way older.

Plus a younger man is (wink wink) innocent and naïve in the nice kind of way. They often have beautiful illusions about love that are very refreshing. Also he has no baggage from too many relationships. The older a man, the more the drama.

The drama that comes with dating an older man often plays out like a Mexican soap opera that is never ending. These days by the time a man is 33, he has either been married before or has had three or more serious live in relationships, and has one or two children stashed somewhere. And as you can imagine he is quite the cynic in love!

Open minded

Also, younger men have more physical energy. So if you’re a woman in her thirties who is fitter than average, you may find that men in your age group or who are a little older just can’t keep up with you. Again, if you are not careful, you can break such a man’s back. Then there is the fact that younger men are more open-minded, fitter, not intimidated by independence and are down with a woman calling the shots; all reasons why going younger is such a treat.
