Years ago, I defined my life goals and pushed myself to achieve them. But as the years went by, I came to realise that as an individual, you can only go so far by yourself.
If you want to go further, you have to empower other people. You have to build other people. You must be able to duplicate yourself and not be selfish. This is now my life philosophy: building people, empowering people and duplicating myself as much as I can in my field of passion and expertise.
That is the reason I started Pepe Minambo Motivational Speaking Academy, where I am committed to sharing my life’s journey, experience and expertise in the field of public and motivational speaking with all my students in a very personal way.
I am committed to seeing others excel in this field just like me. I know many people are passionate about inspiring their generation, but do not know how to go about it. I have decided to be that bridge that will take them to their purpose and passion zone.
In the academy, our approach is very practical. We teach students critical skills in a simple and summarised way, help them register motivational speaking and training businesses, give them internship in the marketplace, and introduce them to real-time business activities. We teach the A to Z of a successful career in public and motivational speaking.
I am a happy man because some of my students have already hit the marketplace. Whenever a client calls me and I am committed elsewhere, I can confidently recommend one of our former students, because I have invested time and passion in them. I have seen them grow and impress serious audiences. They have enabled me to go beyond limits. Before we started the academy, I was an individual, limited in terms of physical presence, time and availability.
But now, I have no boundaries, having trained more than 200 people. I can now be in more than 100 places at any given time. I have now gone beyond limits and that has only been possible through empowering other people. As the saying goes, if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go farther, beyond limits, go with others.
How are your people skills? What are you doing for the people around your life? In conclusion, I would like to remind you the words of Jackie Robinson: “A life isn’t significant except for its impact upon others.”
