The rustic Cove Tree House

By Allan Olingo

Beautiful, relaxing and rustic. That is the Cove Tree House. Nestled among baobab trees lining the beach, the setting ensures that your honeymoon experience will bring you as close to nature and paradise as you will ever get.

Situated approximately ten kilometres south of the Diani beach, this haven offers exclusivity, with its magical location away from hectic buzz of daily life.

The tree houses have a beautiful 180-degree view of the ocean with some of them only steps away from the water. Enjoy a unique Kenyan honeymoon experience, from the personalised room service to the complete privacy, as you get immersed to the coastal world.

On a lucky night with the full moon, you will enjoy watching the fishermen go out by moonlight from the comfort of your balcony.

The sounds of waves lapping at the beach below greet you in the morning. The only sound that keeps the love-birds company is the birds chirping, the whistles of the tide, and the occasional leaf rustles of a group of monkeys in the baobab trees.

There are also guided tours into the villages for the visitors. The tours are small and basic, most of the time it will just be you and the guides spending some time getting to know the local people.

Fishing and snorkeling with the local community on their traditional boats offers another memorable experience. The beach, which sits an old coral reef area, gives a perfect opportunity to walk around the cove in the white sands collecting shells.

The panorama is absolutely beautiful. The vast green baobab forest beneath coupled with the reflection on the water of the blue sky, brings out the cove experience. It is truly magical.
