Police in Trans Nzoia County have arrested a 42-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her husband after the couple reportedly fought over food.
The suspect, Aida Amina, reportedly stabbed her husband, Isaac Wekesa Wafula, when he came home drunk and picked a quarrel with her over food.
The incident happened at Kipsongo in Saboti Constituency.
Area chief Mrs Janet Mukhwana said the victim returned home drunk and threatened to stab the wife if she failed to give him food.
"The information we have is that an argument ensued and the wife grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the chest, killing him on the spot," the administrator said.
She said the commotion from the couple's house attracted neighbours who rushed to the house and found the body lying in a pool of blood.
Police officers visited the scene and found the lifeless body with a stab wound.
County Commander Jacinta Wesonga said the scene was processed by detectives, a kitchen knife recovered and the woman arrested.
