Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando on Monday revealed that one of her goals this year is to get a rich white man to marry her.

As expected, the post drew numerous reactions and the singer appeared to edit a part of her caption a few hours later.

The original post read: “Yesu nitendee, Yesu unitendee, Ombi langu mwaka huu nataka nipate mume mzungu na mwenye ela... (God, my prayer this year is to get a rich white man)

However, a few hours later the caption read: “Yesu nitendee, Yesu unitendee, Ombi langu mwaka huu nataka nipate mume mzungu na mwenye ela...@maneno ya dada mmoja hivi alisikika akiomba kwa sauti…(suggesting that she overheard a woman praying for a rich husband).

A year ago during an interview in Tanzania, Muhando, who is a mother of three, said she is content with being a single mother because her life involves travelling a lot and this might limit quality time spent with her man.

She added that music has a special place in her heart and at times she feels she might not meet some of her husband’s needs.

"I have never gotten married since I do not think I can live with a man and handle him well.

"I travel a lot and so my work cannot allow me to be with him always. Maybe I find one who is very understanding but I am very careful with my job and I protect it so much,” she said.

Muhando further stated that all her children have different fathers but she has managed to educate all of them.

“All my children are in school. All of them have different fathers because every one of them left me when I was either pregnant or when the child was young. I have however managed to enroll them in good schools and soon my firstborn will be graduating with a degree in law,” she says.

Rose Muhando and Pastor Ng’ang’a

In an undated clip that went viral online sometime back, Muhando was seen at Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Neno Evangelism Centre, wailing helplessly as the preacher prayed for her.

When asked about the happenings of that day during an interview with The Standard, Muhando said she cannot explain what exactly happened.

“Pastor Ng’ang’a had invited me to his church and I had reported a day earlier. However, on the day the video was shot, I had a lot of pain in my stomach and he told me he would pray for me. I blacked out after the first three words and to date-I still cannot tell what transpired,” she says.

She says she has never gone back to that church, nor talked to the pastor.
