Good Morning Britain has lost another 100,000 viewers in one day after Piers Morgan dramatically quit the show.

The morning talk show has been losing viewers since the controversial host sensationally walked off the ITV set. It has now lost around 40% of its usual audience after fans called for the return of the 55-year-old.

The ITV morning programme only brought in around 800,000 viewers on March 17, which was the joint lowest recorded by ratings service Overnights.TV over the last four weeks.

Good Morning Britain’s audience is down by 500,000 from the whopping 1.29 million who watched last Tuesday. BBC Breakfast ended up beating the usually popular show with 1.25 million viewers.

The audience was also 700,000 below the 1.49million who watched BBC Breakfast at the same time on March 17,

GMB pulled in only 900,000 viewers this Tuesday and Monday, and 850,000 last Friday.

The show’s lower ratings come after Piers’ fans demanded he returns to the daytime show. The talk show host quit last Tuesday after getting into a row about Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Ben Shephard has temporarily stepped in to replace the broadcaster this week alongside co-host Susanna Reid.

Meanwhile, Piers’ rant about Meghan and Prince Harry has become the most complained about TV in history.

Piers has hosted the show since 2015 but things came to a head when he clashed with Alex Beresford live on air over the comments he made about Meghan and Prince Harry.

One of his comments included him not believing Meghan was feeling suicidal and struggled with mental health issues.

It's understood that his rant about the Duchess of Sussex racked up an eye-watering 57,121 Ofcom complaints - making it the most complained-about TV moment ever.
