Owing to her career, popular Kenyan singer turned businesswoman Esther Akoth better known as Akothee, interacts with many individuals from time to time. Be it in the music scene or her various day-to-day business or residence, the self-proclaimed president of single mothers admits that there are a few individuals who radiate nothing but negative energy.
Opening up on how she rids herself of such people on her Instagram page, Akothee began by advising netizens to be selfish and put their happiness before everyone else no matter what.
"I learnt to be selfish. Whether you are;
1. A boyfriend/ fiancé/ husband
2. A female friend
3. A male friend
4. An employee
5. Employer
"Once you feel offended, you would like to pick a fight, my friend; I am in court fighting access roads with Europeans or picking a few refreshments with baby daddies. As for a stranger! I dump you like hot pan," she wrote.

According to the mother of five, one should cautiously gauge how they feel when they are around certain people and determine whether how they feel is pleasant. If not, Akothee recommends one to dump each one of them.
"If you are unhappy in any kind of relationship, take a seat, sit down and write how you feel about the entire vibe. Make a decision and own your happiness," she went on.
As for Akothee, she reveals she goes as far as replacing her sim card once every three months just to free herself from compromising situations brought about by negative people that somehow found their way into her life.
"Fortunately, I have dumped sooo many negative people in my life. I buy a new phone every year and new lines every 3 months. That's how much I love my peace.

"I dump relationships that are fake, don't add value or are draining to my energy so don't ask why, who or when. Even my own mother can't choose for me what and who I talk to. I have an independent mind and a strong instinct. If you are fake it won't take time because my sincerity will bust your bubble and you will feel offended," she added.
Don't change
Giving tips on happiness in a separate post, the vocal social media influencer advised netizens to embrace who they are in every way and not give in to societal pressure to be someone else. In doing that, Akothee states that you will automatically find happiness.
"You will come to understand that most people admire your way of life, never change how you live to accommodate mediocrity, if that's what makes you happy, and do it for you and not for others. Never be afraid of saying No, Say No without feeling guilty, saying Yes when you actually meant No will always have a negative impact on you. I would rather disappoint you but not myself," she wrote.
