Davido over the moon as son turns one

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke alias Davido is a proud father and he is not shying away from celebrating his achievement as a father. This is after the singer took to social media to celebrate his baby’s first birthday. His son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, clocked a year old and Davido is over the moon. The music star took to his social media pages to celebrate his only son.

"Happy birthday to my beloved son DAVID IFEANYI ADEDEJI ADELEKE Jr !!! Today a king was born!! Prince!! May you become more than me in Jesus name! LOVE YOU SON,” Davido tweeted. Shortly after his tweet went, Ifeanyi became a trending topic in Nigeria as netizens joined Davido in celebrating his son’s first birthday. The 27-year-old singer announced the arrival of his son with fiancée, Chioma Rowland on October 20, 2019.

“Omoba ti de!!! David Adedeji Adeleke Jr I !! D prince is here!!!! 20 – 10 – 2019!!! Love you, my strong wife!!! I love you!!!!! ??????,” the excited father tweeted. Davido formally proposed to Chioma in September at a dinner held in a London restaurant. The engagement came 10 days after the couple’s family had an introduction ceremony in Rowland’s family home in Lagos.

The singer had planned to wed Chioma this year but for the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, Chioma tested positive for coronavirus. Taking to his Twitter, Davido said that they had recently travelled to London, together with their son. However, none exhibited symptoms of the virus. They opted to get tested and the result of the baby and 31 of Davido’s close contacts came back negative.

“Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self-isolation for the minimum 14 days,” he narrated.

However, the 25-year-old recovered from the deadly virus and tested negative after 23 days in isolation and close medical attention. As usual, Davido updated his fans via Twitter, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and well-wishes they received upon announcing Rowland's positive results.

“Glory be to God .. Chioma has now tested negative twice for Covid19 ... Thank you all for prayers .... We love you,” he tweeted. Davido’s relationship with Chioma became public knowledge after she celebrated her 23rd birthday in 2018. The music star went on to release a song titled ‘Assurance’ and gave her a Porsche car valued at N35million (Sh10million).
