Popular media personality Kamene Goro has opened up on her future relationship plans and what she will do if things don’t play out as planned. Speaking during a QnA session on Instagram, the radio presenter surprised many by revealing that she was planning to get engaged by the year, stating that if it doesn’t go as planned, she will not try to get married again.
“Do you plan on getting married soon?” asked one of her fans. “Engaged by end 2020, or I forget about it,” she responded. On whether she is currently in a relationship, Kamene stated that she is in a serious relationship only that it isn’t with a human. “I’m in a serious and committed relationship with my career and my destiny!” she said.
When it comes to her choice of men, Kamene explained that she would date from anywhere except Mombasa. According to her, Mombasa men talk too much and love gossiping. “From Mombasa? No….. I feel like the men talk way too much, udaku, kusengenyana…….. nah!” she continued.

The bubbly social media sensation was once married to a Tanzanian man but unfortunately broke things off a year into their marriage. “Yes my marriage lasted for about 1 year but we had been together for four years. We had been a civil wedding and were planning a destination one. He was a serial cheat and I busted him a couple of times. I moved to Tanzania to be with him but there was a time I he got me sick and I had to come to Nairobi for treatment,” she continued.
When her marriage crumbled, Kamene revealed that she fell into depression and almost took her own life by overdosing on sleeping pills. “Towards the end of my marriage I was depressed. I popped about 70 sleeping pills to end it all. But just when I started to feel woozy, I heard a still voice asking, do you not trust me to handle this for you. Thankfully there was an AAR a few doors from where I lived. I drove myself there and got my stomach pumped,” said Kamene.

He cheated on me till I tried suicide yet I was still being told to hang on. Hang on to what? What kind of role model are you to your daughters when that is the standard you are setting?”
Trying to cope with the reality of her failed marriage, Kamene explained that she immersed herself in work as much as she could. “I threw myself into my work. I would get into the office at 7 am in the morning and leave at around 11pm, go have a glass of wine then get home at 1 pm for two hours sleep before starting all over again,” she said.
