Four qualities every woman looks for in a man

We are cruising fast through 2018, with half of January already gone. One of the goals you set for the year 2018 is getting a man to settle down with. The constant calls from as parents question when you are bringing ‘someone home’ and the many invites you get every weekend to bridal and baby showers make the whole task even harder.

You look through the list of potential candidates and you cannot really settle on one, they all range from one who sends flowers and proclaims mad love to you but always chats on his social media whenever the both of you meet to the former colleague who knocks at your door asking to spend time with you because he can’t bear to be alone.

While choosing the right man may be difficult, there are several traits that will point you towards who comes before who in your ‘my dream man’ list.

Here are some of the traits that a potential partner must have;

Stable job and work history

Before you judge me and label me a gold digger, think of it this way, if your guy has worked in more than five companies in the past two years, it certainly tells you something about him. If he cannot keep stable working relationships with workmates, how will he deal with you for the rest of his life? If he gets fired from every job he gets, that should tell you something about him as well.

He can cook and clean

You are not looking for a cleaner or a cook, neither is he. One thing remains though, if the only thing he can do in the kitchen is heating some food in the microwave, you might end up being his cook. If he will leave all the dishes for you to clean after he has had a great meal you prepared, you are already a housewife. A man who cleans and cooks will obviously know how to look after you.

He has a life

Women are known to be emotional and love it when their men attention to them. But think of it this way, if your man doesn’t have a life other than what the two of you share, he will always be at your side. You might have to cancel some of your activities to hang out with him as he has no one else to ‘chill’ with. He will rush home immediately after work and will accompany you to every place you go. He will be around when your girlfriends come over for drinks. Although being there is adorable, you realize you need your ‘me time’.

He doesn’t live with his family

It may look cute when your guy lives with his family when his mom prepares every meal he takes. However, it may be a risky stretch you’re walking into. His family will always have their noses in your affairs, his sisters will gauge you by what you wear or not while his mom will monitor each step you make.

To make things worse, by staying under his parent’s roof, this man hasn’t had a chance to ‘tackle’ the world by himself. It means that when you decide to settle with him, you might end up playing parent.

While these four traits do not necessarily define a marriage material man, ignoring them would make you wish you hadn’t listed settling down in your 2018 to do list.
