Senator Mike Sonko’s eldest daughter Saumu Mbuvi is almost due and speculations are rife she could be expecting twins!

The JKUAT graduate recently held her baby shower and a friend’s comment on her Instagram post sparked the rumours.

“Congratulations to the next mummy in town @saumu_mbuvi7 oh my God twins...I love twins hope to see you soon mama,” read a comment on her picture she posted on Instagram.

Saumu, whose colour choice was pink and blue could have given clear indication she probably doesn’t know the sex of the baby, just yet - or is she expecting a boy and girl?

She revealed that her mother, who was present at the baby shower was her greatest role model. Saumu is dating little known businessman Benson Gatu.

In September 2016, sections of the media reported that the relationship between Saumu and Gatu had Sonko’s approval. It was also reported that he had taken the 25-year-old lawyer as his protégé to teach him a few things as he eyes the Mathioya parliamentary seat in the.

Sources claimed that the senator was infuriated that a local daily was giving publicity to a person he describes as “someone who wants to joyride on the Sonko name to gain political mileage”.

Sonko even urged politicians not to be fooled by men who pretend that they want to settle down with their daughters.

“I am very bitter about this and advise other leaders not to allow their daughters or family members to fall into this trap,” Sonko reportedly said.
