Earlier this week, police were reportedly looking for gospel artiste Ambassada for jumping bail.

The prosecution, on October 12, successfully applied for a warrant of arrest against the musician after he skipped a date with court.

The artiste, however, came out to defend himself saying that he is not in the country.

“I am not in the country and let’s be reasonable, I cannot stop operations because of a court case. Whatever I’m doing is what will facilitate the case anyway,” the singer told Heads Up.

He claims that he left the country because he was sick and was sorting out business deals in Uganda.

“By the time I left the country, I was very sick and my lawyer was taking care of everything on my behalf,” he said, adding that he would be coming back to the country on October 16.

Ambassada, who is accused of possession of an iPad allegedly stolen from comedian Fred Omondi Owino of Hapa Kule News TV show, skipped three court sessions,

Ambassada, however claims that he is just a victim of circumstances and that he has tried to contact Fred to explain the matter.

“I have tried to call but he wont pick up. I’m just a victim of circumstances,” he said.

Ambassada allegedly bought the iPad without knowing that it would land him in the dock.

The prosecution had indicated that there were plans to make him a prosecution witness before he ‘absconded.’

Ambassada was released on a cash bail of Sh40,000 that might be forfeited to the state if he fails to avail himself to court before police pounce on him.
