Man behind stylish Buruburu matatus is dead

The man known to have pioneered the culture of pimping PSV vehicles, a cultural and tourism phenomenon in Nairobi that is known worldwide, is dead.

Gabriel Maina aka Mandechu, a matatu operator known for the 90s’ popular Buruburu 58 route passed on early this week. News of his demise became a trending topic on social media after friends started posting messages of condolences celebrating his life.
