Kim Kardashian captured the moment stepfather Caitlyn Jenner blew out the candles on her cake as the family marked her 71st birthday. Former Olympian Caitlyn turned 71 on Wednesday, glamming up in a plunging black top and red skirt as she was treated like royalty. Kim, who recently celebrated her own birthday, filmed Caitlyn as she blew out the candles and the family cheered behind the camera.
It's not clear which family members attended. Kim made sure to pen a sweet tribute to Caitlyn on the day as well, writing: "Happy birthday @caitlynjenner. I love you forever! You helped raise me into the woman I am today, forever grateful!" Caitlyn and Kim's mum Kris ended their marriage in 2015, the pair calling it quits after 23 years of marriage.
During their marriage, they welcomed Kim's half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie. Caitlyn, who's a transgender woman, insisted that her split from Kris had nothing to do with her gender identity. And she recently shared a touching and heartfelt tribute to Kim on her 40th, sharing a snap of them together on Instagram and writing: "A great big happy birthday. It has been an honor to have spent the last 30 years with you.

"To watch you grow as a person, a mother, a wife, and businesswoman, has been the most amazing experience. PS You're catching up to me!" But despite a flood of well-wishing birthday messages coming Kim's way, she's been at the heart of controversy after sharing a string of "tone deaf" tweets. Kim wrote that she felt "humbled and blessed", as well as "privileged", to be jetting off with her nearest and dearest to a luxury island getaway for her 40th.

But many felt that her posts were insensitive during the pandemic, with GMB's resident firebrand Piers Morgan going so far as to call her a "tone-deaf imbecile." Others, though, defended Kim, and commended her for her humility. Sister Khloe has been among those to leap to her defence, saying she only hopes Kim remembers the trip as a "beautiful experience."
