Rebel Wilson has revealed she received death threats from young girls who accused her of 'sexually assaulting' Harry Styles.

The actress, famed for playing Fat Amy on Pitch Perfect, opened up as she was interviewed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Host Ellen began by reminding viewers that Rebel previously made an appearance when she gate-crashed an episode with One Direction back in November.

On that occasion she proclaimed herself to be the band's 'biggest fan' and ended up straddling Harry Styles on the couch.

While it was all fun and games at the time, Rebel confessed that she faced a severe backlash by 1D fans after it aired.

In particular, many of the group's admirers accused the blonde of crossing the line with Harry. The young girls thought she'd crossed the line

She explained: "Basically, I got accused of sexual assaulting Harry Styles."

The 35-year-old added that most of abuse came from young girls so she tried to laugh it off.

She continued: "These little girls, I think they're about 12, were very, very unhappy with that.

"Basically we're just like two professional entertainers having a good time. And he really enjoyed it.I told them that on Twitter and they just sent me more death threats."

Despite the serious nature of the abuse, Rebel kept the chat very light-hearted as she poked fun at her relationship with Harry.

The film star quipped that 'there's been no further action' since they got up close and personal on the show.

She's single and ready to mingle

"There's something about traditional manliness and chivalry, and gentlemanliness. But then is that sexist? I don't know. Men are traditionally stronger physically. So if you need something done at your house that's physical, they should do it."
