Makini School introduces aftercare and holiday programme for preschoolers

Makini School introduces extra classes for nursery school learners.

Makini Group of schools has introduced a free aftercare and holiday programme for preschoolers for nursery school learners, that will run for two hours every weekday.

According to the Group of Schools' Regional Managing Director, Horace Mpanza, the programme will entail a free aftercare and holiday programme to support families with busy schedules.

The programme will offer a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, music, drama, sports, and technology (coding), to keep learners creatively engaged.

However, it is only available for preschoolers in their [Makini] schools in Nairobi and in Kisumu at no cost.

"The programme is designed to support families with busy schedules while ensuring that learners stay engaged and inspired during school breaks with a primary focus on providing a safe and structured environment for children to learn and explore," the statement reads in part.

Makini school says the holiday programme will be offered in 4-6 week long sessions; from 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm.

Mpanza says the programme aims to cater for working parents with busy schedules, by offering appropriate childcare arrangements after school hours and during school holidays.

"Our schools have the necessary facilities to enable learners to access a rich and stimulating learning environment even during school breaks," he said.

The school's management has also pledged to introduce more lessons for upper-grade learners throughout the year.

Makini School has five branches: The Ngong Road (mother) campus and the Makini Junior Academy on State House Avenue in Nairobi; Makini Junior School Migosi, Makini Boarding School Kibos and Makini School Kisumu.
