MP Badi Twalib roots for 100 per cent school transition

Jomvu MP Badi Twalib has launched a door to door campaign in the distribution of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursary to help the Ministry of Education achieve its 100 per cent transition policy.

He said MPs have the duty to help the government in attaining 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary schools using the CDF kitty.

Twalib said he will address the challenges of education in his constituency and announced that Sh29 million CDF bursaries would be distributed to the needy students.

The MP said he has visited Mikindani, Miritini and Jomvu areas of the constituency during his door to door campaign to ensure nobody has dropped out of school due to lack of fees.

He has promised to ensure transparency in the allocation of CDF bursaries to the deserving students and warned staff handling CDF affairs against engaging in corruption.

He said investing in education will improve children access to school and in the long run improve economic development in the country.

''I am reaching out to other stakeholders to join hands with me to help ensure that all school going children are in school. I cannot single handedly tackle challenges in the educational sector,'' he said.

At the same time, the MP called on parents in his constituency to take the education of their children seriously to escape poverty.

The MP said parents need to give education of their children the attention it deserves.
