Pangani’s internal exams, prayers led them to top

Teachers at Pangani Girls School attributed its sterling performance to internal examinations, prayers, and teamwork.

The school produced the leading candidate in this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Naomi Karimi Kawira, a former deputy head girl, scored a straight A with a mean mark of 87.011 to emerge the best candidate countrywide.

The school, which had 281 candidates, also produced two girls in the top 10 list. Morara Mongina was sixth while Mwatate Emily was seventh nationally.

Principal Florence Ngarari said the internal examinations at the school were of high standard and a reflection of what to expect in the national examination.

“The nature of our examinations is a true reflection of what the students need in preparation for the national challenge. Teachers have been working positively towards maintaining the required standards,” she said.
