Nakuru top scorer informed while holidaying in Kilifi

Wagura Murithi, 14, who scored 434 marks in this year’s KCPE, received the news of his exemplary feat while on holiday in Kilifi with his parents.

He was among the top pupils in Nakuru County. He told The Standard he wants to become a neurosurgeon.

Wagura, from Gilgil Academy, who was joined by his parents to celebrate his good performance, said he had worked for the results.

“I aim to become a neurosurgeon after completing my university studies and I resolve to concentrate fully to achieve it,” he said.

The boy, who wants to join either Alliance or Starehe Boys, vowed to concentrate on science subjects to make it into a neurosurgery course in campus.

His parents, both teachers in national schools, said they had prayed and prepared him well.
His father, Murithi Wagura said as parents, they expected their child to do well and the results didn’t shock or surprise them.

Meanwhile, his mother Grace Wakio said she was delighted that her son was among the best candidates in the country.
