Mum admits to killing her two children and storing the bodies in a freezer for more than a year

A mother accused of murdering two of her children after they were found in the freezer has admitted to the killing during a wild outburst in court.

Michelle Blair screamed: "I did kill her" to a shocked court on Thursday.

The mother, from Detroit, Michigan, was arrested after her children Stephen, nine, and 13-year-old Stoni, were discovered by police officers.

Giving evidence against Blair was her eight-year-old son, who was aware of the killings and where the bodies were hidden.

He appeared during a custody hearing concerning himself and a 17-year-old girl.

Blair's outburst came as the boy described watching her kill his sister.

Officers made the horrifying discovery on March 24 when coming to deliver an eviction notice.

It is believed the bodies were kept in the freezers for a number of years, with Stephen thought to have died in August 2012, and Stoni being killed in May 2013.

Blair is accused of torturing Stephen for days before his eventual death, choking him, throwing boiling water on him, and placing his head inside a plastic bag.

Shock: The community was disturbed by the news when police made the discovery

After he died, Blair wrapped his body and placed it in a freezer, investigators claim.

Police believe Blair then killed Stoni nine months later, strangling her with a t-shirt.

Her 17-year-old daughter claims she was then made to store the body in the freezer, adding that Blair would physically abuse all four children, and the eight-year-old boy added that he was sexually abused.

Blair is charged with felony murder, premeditated murder, child abuse, and torture.

Her parental rights, alongside those of the children's fathers, are being challenged by Michigan’s Department of Human Services.

Blair is due to return to court on June 19.
