A suspect who was implicated in the murder of Homa Bay County Assembly member will be remanded for one week to allow further investigations. A Homa Bay court granted the Criminal Investigations
Department in the area permission to remand the suspect till Monday next week. The suspect was allegedly adversely mentioned in the murder of Kibiri Ward representative Boaz Odhiambo Ondiek which took place about three weeks ago. In an affidavit sworn by Corporal Joseph Keter, police requested the court to allow them to continue holding the suspect at Homa Bay Police Station.
Acting Principal Magistrate Samson Ongeri was told that Kennedy Onyango Okeyo, a man in his early twenties was arrested on April 25 this year in Rachuonyo North District but investigations were not complete. The CID told the court that the duration of remand would enable them conduct their investigations effectively.
