The 22nd Annual National Prayer Breakfast, a key event in Kenya’s calendar of reflection and unity, has been rescheduled from its traditional date.

Originally slated for Thursday, the interdenominational gathering will now take place on Wednesday, May 28, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

In a formal communication to the National Assembly on April 30, Speaker Moses Wetang’ula announced the change, marking a departure from the long-standing tradition of holding the event on the last Thursday of May each year.

Organised by Parliament, the National Prayer Breakfast brings together leaders from across Kenya’s political, religious, and civil society sectors for a moment of prayer, reflection, and recommitment to national ideals.

President William Ruto is expected to attend as the chief guest. A host of dignitaries from various sectors are expected to attend the event.
