Governors urge Senate to raise threshold for impeachment

Governors have lauded the Senate for dismissing Governor Kawira Mwangaza's impeachment and called on senators to fast-track legislation that seeks to raise the threshold for removing county chiefs from office.

Speaking at the close of the two-day retreat at Masai Mara Game Reserve, Council of Governors chairperson Ann Waiguru noted that the impeachment threshold was too low and gave room for political mechanization.
