Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition has resolved to resume the demonstrations after the Holy month of Ramadhan citing a lack of seriousness from the Government to hold bipartisan talks.

Through its leader Raila Odinga, Azimio on Thursday, April 13, stated that the decision was reached after a consultative meeting that was held at the Ufungamano House, Nairobi, adding that their demands must be prioritised in the negotiations,

Lowering food prices, reinstatement of the four IEBC Commissioners, and a forensic audit of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers are among the key issues being pushed by the coalition.

"Nothing stops dialogue out of parliament, the dialogue shall continue as we continue with the demonstrations, we are waiting for Ramadhan to come to an end and we shall announce the dates for the demos," Odinga said.

On the bipartisan talks, the Opposition leader said they will use dialogue to put forward a set of thematic concerns for the talks, adding that no party shall have a right to oppose the proposed concerns from another party.

"As a coalition, we are going to take this matter to the highest court in the world. We have witnessed inhuman incidents where wananchi among them innocent journalists are being attacked brutally by police," he added.
