Kenya and America have something in common especially when it comes to elections. America always conducts their elections one year prior to Kenya. Kenyans have always had an interest in America’s election especially after president Barrack Obama’s elections. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made very grievous accusations against president Obama and his democratic rival Hillary Clinton that they were the founders of the Islamic state (ISIS) group. Trump has suffered a long string of missteps that have marred his campaign since he won the nomination last month. These allegations are very serious that, if Donald Trump is to continue further he should go for a mental checkup.
This also applies to various contenders of posts in Kenya. Why don't we have a clause where mental checkup and educational requirements should be made a must before a person is cleared to contest an elective seat in Kenya and that should be done before nomination is done? We always assume that all is well with those who want to vie for various seats but look at the very many cases of hate speech, theft and rape cases in courts by some people we call our leaders? Look at the various cases of assault and brawl our leaders were involved in? This shows that we may be suffering from ‘Trumpnism’ here in Kenya.
