Nairobi: Police launch probe on MPs Moses Kuria and Ferdinand Waititu after they were captured on video making inflammatory and incitive remarks against a community in Nairobi.

While Waititu allegedly called for circumcision of Luos in Nairobi, Kuria is said to have called for the assassination of CORD leader Raila Odinga.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said they have the videos and would study them before summoning the two leaders who made the remarks in Kasarani on Sunday.

"It is wrong and that is why we have launched the probe to get to the bottom of it. We have the video which we are reviewing for action," said Boinnet.

In the video, Kuria is heard asking the government to "assassinate" CORD leader Raila Odinga because he is a "threat to the nation".

Kuria made the remarks on Sunday at the thanksgiving rally of a vernacular station radio presenter held at the Safaricom indoor stadium, Kasarani.

A one-and-half minute video of the MP making the inciteful remarks immediately went viral on social media with majority of Kenyans calling for his arrest.

Already, the two legislators are facing incitement charges in court.

Waititu was arraigned in court over remarks targeting the Maasai community when he was Embakasi MP.

Kuria, on the other hand, is facing charges in an incident where he told youths in his constituency that they should attack, with pangas, people opposed to National Youth Service projects and for alleged hate speech on social media.  On May 2014, Kuria allegedly made a comment which was likely to cause mayhem between Kikuyus and Somalis.
