Uhuru is the devil we know

Ever sat back and wondered what if, what is we had elected the most unnoticed candidate? What if Mohammed Abduba Dida had become president? Would we be battling the same ghost we have been battling for the last three decades? Is the saying better the devil you know than the angel you don't know apply to the current situation in Kenya.

The polling stations were opened as early as 6:00am and some even closed after 6:00pm due to the long queues. Everyone was happy and wanted to know what the new constitution offered us. One by one we were given ballot papers ticked our preferred candidate and walked home. All the streets were empty for the next few days. Everyone was at home gazing at the television as they watched results trickling in. Finally the winners were announced, not without its fair share of drama, this is Africa.
