2.6.6.3 curriculum welcomed

The education system in Kenya indeed needs to be reformed. In the current curriculum, students are bogged down with a lot of subjects that have little impact on their practical lives.

Too much time is taken for students to complete studies. For instance a kid who joins baby class today will proceed to Class One in 2019.

The three years are for baby class, nursery school and pre-unit. The three classes can be reduced to two or even one like before.

Parents are paying heavily for their kids in the preliminary classes before joining primary schools.

Specialisation in a particular field of study by the students should be considered at an early age.

Universities should particularly take students through their fields of specialisation instead of taking too many units just to meet the academic requirements.

I hope the anticipated 2.6.6.3 system will bring the much desired change in the education sector.
