By PPS

NAIROBI, KENYA:
President Uhuru Kenyatta has clarified that only Provincial Commissioners and Provincial heads will be redeployed as part of the ongoing restructuring of the Provincial Administration.

He said County Commissioners, District Commissioners, District Officers and chiefs will remain in office.

“I want to clarify that those who we recalled are Provincial Commissioners and provincial departmental heads but the other officers will remain in their stations and are expected to continue performing their duties as they were doing before,” President Uhuru said.

Speaking at State House Nairobi after the swearing-in of Deputy Chief Justice Kalpana Rawal and Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia, President Uhuru said the Government was in the process of reforming the Public Service in line with the new Constitution which sets out clear roles of the national and county governments.

He said the changes are aimed at transforming the Public Service to ensure it is efficient and effective in discharging its mandate.
