Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly clobbered his father, leaving him with fatal injuries.

The teenager is said to have confronted his father, Vincent Chepkwony on Monday night, accusing him of delaying his admission to secondary school.

According to a police report, the confrontation degenerated into a physical fight and the boy hit his father on the head with a club.

Nandi East OCPD David Nyabuto said the old man was taken to a county health centre in Meteitei on Tuesday, where he received first aid.

“On Wednesday morning, he was transferred to Kapsabet County Hospital but he was confirmed dead on arrival. Health officers said he had lost too much blood,” he said.

The body was taken to Kapsabet County Hospital mortuary.

The boy is being held at Nandi Hills Police Station as police conduct investigations.
