Ongeri vows not to resign over Sh4.6b scam

By OSINDE OBARE

Education Minister Prof Sam Ongeri has vowed to stay put and accused unnamed political leaders of maliciously tarnishing his name.

Ongeri said he is ‘as clean as snow’ and argued that he is the one who blew off the first whistle over corruption in the ministry.

“I don’t condone or practice corruption and as a Christian it would be wrong if I lie,” said the minister and vowed to stay put in his duties.

Exonerating himself from the mess at the ministry where over Sh4.6 billion was ripped off, the minister insisted that he is innocent and that some people were out to tarnish his name.
