Nzamba Kitonga

Chairperson of the Committee of Experts (CoE) on Constitutional Review holds an LLB with Honours from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

He was admitted to the bar in 1979 and has since practiced extensively as an advocate in Nairobi and Mombasa.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Atsango Chesoni

Until her appointment as Deputy Chairperson of the CoE, she worked as a consultant on governance, gender, human rights, anti-corruption and democracy issues.

 She has extensive experience working as a human rights monitor.

 She has also worked as a policy and legal reform adviser to several institutions.

Dr Ekuru Aukot

Director of CoE. He was admitted to the Bar in 1999 as an Advocate of the High Court.

He is a member of the Council of the Law Society of Kenya and member of the Editorial Board of, African Section of The Refugee Law Reader.

He taught on consultancy basis the Law on Refugees and IDPs at postgraduate level at the School of Law, University of Nairobi

Otiende Amollo

Otiende Amollo is an Advocate of the High Court, a Notary Public, and a Commissioner for Oaths and a Certified Public Secretary.

 He holds an LLB degree from the University of Nairobi, and an LLM (Public Law) degree from the same university.

He has also litigated on various landmark cases on Human Rights and Constitutional Law.

Christina Murray

Christina Murray is a professor of Human Rights and Constitutional Law at the University of Cape Town.

Between 1994 and 1996 she served on a panel of seven experts advising the South African Constitutional Assembly in drafting the post-apartheid South Africa Constitution.

Since then her work has focused on constitution making, contitutional design and the implementation.

Chaloka Beyani

Chaloka Beyani is one of the three foreign experts on the CoE. Chaloka has wide experience in international human rights law.

 He has served as legal advisor and expert for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office of the High Commissioner on Refugees.

 He is a law graduate of the University of Zambia.

Frederick E Ssempebwa

He is a former Ugandan cabinet Minister and a constitutional lawyer. He is also a scholar and academic with vast experience in constitutionalism.

 He holds a Bachelor in Laws and a Master of Laws. Ssempebwa has held several high profile professional positions in the Uganda government.

 He has also served as the president of the East African Law Society.

Bobby Munga Mkangi

He is a lawyer with a passion for children rights and protection. Before his appointment to the CoE.

Mkangi was consultant and trainer on rights and protection of children. He has also been involved in the development and publication of various papers and periodicals on child rights and protection.

Bobby holds LLB from the University of Nairobi.

Njoki Ndungu

She is an Advocate of the High Court and a former nominated Member of Parliament.

She is best known for her successful campaign that resulted in the enactment of the Sexual Offences Act 2006, and for moving amendments to introduce Maternity and Paternity Leave.

She holds an LLM in Human Rights and Civil Liberties.

Abdirashid Abdullahi

He is a distinguished academic and scholar with impressive credentials in conflict analysis and resolution.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and Masters degree in African History.

 He brought CoE a wealth of knowledge and expertise on conflict analysis and resolution.
