Shilling weakens on importer demand

Kenya's shilling weakened on Thursday to a near 10-month low due to importer demand, especially from oil companies, traders said.

Commercial banks quoted the shilling at 102.95/103.15 per dollar, compared with Wednesday's close of 102.80/103.10.

Traders said the shilling touched 103.05/25 in early trade, a level it last neared on January 18 when it traded at 103.15/25, according to Refinitiv data.
