Unilever launches inter-university talent contest

Unilever East Africa has unveiled this year’s inter-university innovation competition. The Idea Trophy, now in its fourth year, has been open to students from Kenyan public and private universities who are required to generate innovative ideas on creating brand awareness and growing product usage among their peers in the target institutions.

Marc Engel, Unilever CEO for East Africa, called on students to apply in large numbers sighting that the skills acquired will fundamentally benefit them in their future endeavours. Participants will have a lifetime experience working on real business challenges in a multinational company as well as gain mentorship from experienced business leaders. Last year’s edition was won by a team of three students from University of Eldoret. Participants stand the chance to win a trip to the Global Future Leader’s League at one of Unilever’s international hubs plus internship at the firm.
