Prime Minister Raila Odinga has undergone a minor surgery to ease pressure mounting on his brain following a slight accident.
According to one of his doctors, Dr Olweny Oluoch, the PM will remain in Nairobi Hospital for at least five days as he recovers from the surgery.
Raila, who was rushed to the hospital on Sunday night for a check-up after he complained of general exhaustion, has been described to be in stable condition following the operation.
Briefing the press earlier on Tuesday morning, Raila’s director of communication, Mr Dennis Onyango said, "the Prime Minister is unwell but he is in a fit and stable condition".
Onyango had further added that doctors treating Raila recommended a complete bed rest that will see him confined in hospital for sometime.
"During that period, the hospital will restrict access to him to ensure he gets the rest that he needs," said Onyango.
