A lecturer at Egerton University’s Main Campus in Njoro is missing after she was abducted on Sunday afternoon by a four-man gang from her house.

A security guard also went missing following the daring attack at the lecturer’s house at Nakuru’s Pipeline Estate.

The lecturer’s husband Dr Fredrick Mugo Ng’ang’a was seriously injured after he was hit on the head by the attackers who wore masks.

The medical doctor was confronted by two masked men who forced him into the house where he found his wife Jacobet Ng’ang’a and their day security man under the watch of two other armed men.

He was pushed and fell to the concrete floor losing consciousness, only to wake up after more than two hours to find his wife and the security man missing.

The gang stole the doctor’s Sh20,000 and a mobile phone.

Nakuru area police boss Johnston Ipara said officers from the Flying Squad have been combing the estates in search of the don and the security guard.

"We are pursuing the abductors but the security agents are yet to establish the motive behind the incident and if the security guard was involved," said Ipara.

No ransom

Police say the kidnappers have not made any calls to demand ransom from her family.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle operator was murdered and his body found dumped along the Nakuru-Nyahururu road.

Another operator who found the body and called the police said he saw a Tuktuk ahead of him stop before dropping something, that later turned to be a body, and sped away. The deceased’s body had several knife stab wounds.

Ipara said initial investigations showed that the victim identified as Mwaura Chege was murdered elsewhere and his body dropped at the scene.
