Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) will on Tuesday evening (today) renew their rivalry with African champions Alexandria Sporting Club (ASC) in the finals from 7pm as curtains come down on the Africa Women’s Basketball League (AWBL).

On Monday, the dockers qualified for inaugural AWBL finals after stunning a star-studded Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 101-97 in the semifinals to become the first Kenyan team to reach a final of a FIBA Africa clubs competition.

KPA captain Natalie Akinyi Mwangale dropped a double-double of 26 points and 13 assists to lead the dockers to victory. Mwangale scored eight 3-point shots in the game and nine rebounds.

Victoria Reynolds added 26 points as Hilda Indasi, Rita Aluoch and Madina Okot all managed double digits in points with 15,14 and 12 respectively.

The Anthony Ojukwu led side will however have to bring their top game against the Egyptians who hammered them 102-77 during their last preliminary Group A match.

Sporting picked a 100-74 victory against Angola's Inter Clube in the second Semi-Final to book a rematch with KPA.

Last Friday, the hosts made light work of KPA with a monster 39-14 first quarter performance steering them to victory. Sporting also won the second (20-19) and third quarters (21-16) albeit KPA’s strong comeback which was evident in their last quarter 28-22 dominance.

Today, the KBF Premier League champions have to show up from the first quarter to last or else risk a repeat of the group stage massacre.
