Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) are the 2023 FIBA Africa Zone V champions.

The Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Women’s Premier League champions recaptured the title they lost last year after thrashing Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 87-53 in a one-sided final played in Kigali, Rwanda on Saturday.

Victoria Reynolds scored a game high 22 points, eight rebounds and two assist to guide the Anthony Ojukwu led side to the championship.

KPA will now represent Zone Five at this year's FIBA Africa Women Basketball League (AWBL) slated for December in Egypt.

The newly-launched women’s club competition in Africa will see the introduction of new eligibility rules.

The roster must consist of at least 8 National Players and 4 foreign players, including 2 plying their trade in any African league and 2 from outside Africa.

Meanwhile, Betty Kananu finished with a game high 17-points and eight rebounds to lead Equity Bnak Hawks to a third place finish in Kigali.

The bankers were seeking redemption after their semifinal defeat to Rwanda Energy Group (REG) on Friday.

REG came from behind to beat Kenya's Equity 76-61 and reach the final.
