Controversial preacher Paul Makenzi appeared for his trial at Tononko Children's Court Monday in a jovial mood and dispelled rumours that he was dead, as his trial seemed to have stalled.

Last week, while seeking an adjournment, the prosecution informed Tononko Principal Magistrate Nelly Chepchirchir that they were cash-strapped and could not support their lead prosecutors for a five-day hearing.
