The faces of 2023 KCPE top pupils

Some of the top KCPE 2023 candidates.

The top learner in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), Michael Warutere scored 428 marks.

This is according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu who made the announcement at Mtihani House in Nairobi on Thursday, November 23, during the release of the 2023 KCPE results.

1,406,557 million candidates sat the 2023 national examination.

Some 8,525 (0.60 percent) candidates managed to score between 400 and 500 marks while 352,782 (24.29 percent) candidates scored between 300 and 399 marks.

Students who scored between 200 and 299 marks were 658,278 representing 48.49 percent while those who got between 100 and 199 were 383,025, accounting for 27.07 percent. 

Those who scored between 001 and 099 were 2,060 candidates accounting for 0.15 percent. 

Out of the 1.4 million candidates who sat the examination, only two were involved in examination malpractices. 

One of the candidates was found with an unauthorised note in the exam room while the other had a mobile phone.

2023 KCPE candidates can access their results by sending their index numbers to 40054 at Sh25 per SMS.

Below are some of the faces of the top 2023 KCPE students: 

Michael Warutere from Riara Springs Academy scored 428 marks in KCPE 2023.

Bii Meshack from Moi Primary School in Nakuru scored 412 marks.

Muringi Myles Mbugua from Little Friends Academy, Naivasha got 421 marks.

Mbae Precious Wanjiru from Consolata Primary School, Meru scored 411 marks.

Alvin Momany from Royal Metropolis Academy, Nyamira scored 416 marks.

Clinton Alusiola from Fesbeth Academy, Kakamega scored 420 marks.

Mercy Cheboite from Little Lambs Academy, Uasin Gishu County scored 420 marks.

Valerie Chemutai from St Mary's Mixed Primary, Bomet County scored 421 Marks.

Belyon Tracy Cherotich from Hilltop Preparatory School, Transnzoia scores 413 marks.

Stecy Mwendwa and Precious Wanjiru who got 417 and 411 marks respectively from Consolata Primary School Meru.

Bill Mwangi of Bridgan Academy with 401 marks.

Victoria Jepkoech  of AIC Cheribisi, Nandi County with 412 marks
