There is heavy police presence in various parts of the country especially in Nairobi and Kisumu where the officers have camped in strategic areas ahead of the expected protests by the Azimio la Umoja coalition.
In Nairobi, there was tension in Kibra area where several youths were rounded up as they gathered in preparation for the protest.
Security has been beefed up around the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) and rounds leading to State House even as the usual traffic in the Central Business District (CBD) remains minimal.
